Harnessing the Power of Waste

A Sustainable Solution to Respecting the Planet

We are dedicated to sustainable practices that prioritize the well-being of people and the planet. By collecting milled sugar cane, rice straw, and other farm waste materials, we effectively divert them from burning and contributing to CO2 emissions. This transformation process yields highly fertile and nutrient-rich compost, abundant in essential elements like nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium, as well as minerals such as calcium. Such compost not only enhances plant structure and immunity, reducing the need for pesticides, but also rebuilds soil health by reintroducing depleted organic matter. Our groundwork begins in the pristine highlands of West Java, far from polluting industrial zones, where our greenhouses ensure a clean and unpolluted environment, preserving fresh air and pristine water sources at the mountain's peak. Our commitment lies in nurturing a sustainable food chain and safeguarding our natural resources for generations to come.

Little Bundles of Nutrients

It all begins with a simple mushroom. Champignon mushrooms, to be exact. These little bundles of nutrients demand the most readily available nutrition source—and that is compost. Earthy, fertile compost made from materials that would otherwise be burned and wasted.

Champi is the leading supplier of fresh champignon mushrooms, Swiss brown mushroom, and Portobello mushrooms in the metropolitan Jakarta, supplying major quick service restaurants, caterers, and hotels, with quality so good that these mushrooms are also exported fresh to Singapore.

Bio-Available Superfood

Farmers spoiled by heavily subsized fossil fuel fertilizers witness diminishing yields year-on-year despite putting more and more chemical fertilizers in the futile attempt to improve their income.

We understand soil health is vital to agricultural productivity. Our compost not only provides the land with bio-available nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium, but also with organic matter needed for basic structures of plants. We bring back nutrients left over from harvest, supplement them with more natural nutrients collected from animal waste, and allow nature to aerobically ferment the carbon and nitrogen mixture into a superfood for crops.

Local

At Champi, we strive to be as local as possible, reducing the need for extended shipping between our supplies and our customers.

We also employ residents nearby our farms to help tend the fields and harvest when ready.
